DAILY INCIDENTS FOR MAY 2, 2007

3 IN CUSTODY FOR DRIVING TO ENDANGERAt about 3:35pm, on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, members of the Area A-1 Neighborhood Drug Unit were conducting a drug investigation in Charlestown. After observing what they believed to be a drug transaction, officers approached a brown Ford Escape SUV in order to speak to the occupants. However, as officers approached the vehicle, the vehicle took off. As the suspect vehicle made its getaway, the vehicle almost struck two officers and did come into contact with one unmarked cruiser. As officers were following the suspect vehicle, the suspect vehicle made its way onto Route 93 South. Once on 93, the suspect exited the highway by going the wrong way on an exit ramp. While traveling the wrong way on the ramp, the suspect vehicle struck a taxi cab traveling in the opposite direction. Officers then arrested Erin Russell, 19, of Charlestown, Shannon O’Donnel, 22, of Charlestown and Roland Lakeman, 41, of Charlestown and charged all three with Assault with the Intent to Murder, Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Motor Vehicle), Leaving the Scene (Property Damage), Leaving the Scene (Personal Injury). Officers also recovered various amounts of narcotics (Class A & C) from the suspect vehicle.
4 ARRESTED IN EAST BOSTON FOR DRINKING & DRAWING
At about 12:42am, on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, officers from District A-7 (East Boston) observed 4 individuals drinking in public near 212 Princeton Street. As officers approached the suspects, they immediately placed their beers on the ground. While speaking to the suspects, officers observed newly written graffiti on a nearby wall. Officers also detected the scent of what smelled like marker ink. Officers then recovered a ‘Sharpie’ marker in the immediate area. Officers then arrested Israel Delarosa, 21, of East Boston, David Ayala, 20, of East Boston, Gustavo Ayala, 20, of East Boston and Willian Navaro, 29, of East Boston and charged all four with Drinking in Public and Property Damage (Graffiti).
WRONG FOOT TO STEP ON
At about 11:55pm, on Tuesday, May 1, 2007, a victim walked into District E-18 (Hyde Park) and began yelling for help. According to the victim, he was being chased by a man with a knife and the suspect was just outside the station. The victim told officers that he and the suspect were passengers on an MBTA bus. While riding the bus, the victim says he accidentally kicked the suspect’s foot a few times. But, every time the victim kicked the suspect’s foot, the victims says he apologized. Victim further states as he got up to exit the bus, he again accidentally stepped on the suspect’s foot. At which point, the suspect stated, “that’s the last time you step on me!” According to the victim, the suspect then followed the victim off the bus and pulled a knife on him. Officers arrested Earl Smith, 56, of Roslindale, and charged him with Assault By Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
