An ongoing, proactive warrant sweep in the Dudley Square area is focused on individuals known to police, who affect the quality of life for residents. Yesterday’s arrests were a collaborative effort of resources, which included BPD Anti Crime officers, the Drug Control Unit from District B-2 (Roxbury) as well as District B-2 detectives.Police Commissioner Ed Davis stated, “Such enforcement initiatives have a substantial positive effect on public safety, criminal activity and disorder issues in our neighborhoods. I applaud these officers for their efforts and their continued dedication to community policing. Boston Police will persevere in our efforts to provide a safe community.”
Since March 22, 2007, this sustained, concentrated effort is being conducted in the Dudley Triangle area and has apprehended 30 individuals. This initiative has resulted in arrests for the following crimes, 1 firearm arrest, 10 drug arrests and multiple warrant arrests for crimes ranging from, but not limited to, Public Drinking, Open and Gross Lewdness and Public Urination.
The following suspects were arrested yesterday:
· Grover Harris, 47, of Boston Failure to Register – Sex Offender Registry
· Harold Green, 67, of Roxbury Disturbing The Peace
· James Hubbard, 45, of Boston Open and Gross Lewdness
· Steven Huntley, 25, of Boston Larceny (warrant) and Distribution of Class B Within 100’ Play Ground
· Richard Smith, 78, of Roxbury Possession of Class B and Possession of Class B (warrant)
