REMOVES SIX CRIMINALS FROM CITY STREETSThe mission of “Operation Court Service” was a proactive warrant sweep focused on individuals known to police, who have outstanding court issues within the City of Boston. Yesterday’s round up was a collaborative effort of resources including the Youth Violence Strike Force, Boston Police District B-2 (Roxbury), Boston Police District C-11 (Dorchester), the Boston Regional Intelligence Center, the Boston Police fugitive and Apprehension Unit, the Probation Department, the Parole Department, Suffolk County House of Correction, Department of Youth Services and Department of Corrections.
Police Commissioner Ed Davis stated, “This level of local coordination can have a substantial effect on public safety and criminal activity in our city. I applaud these officers and all of our local partners involved in this initiative for sending a clear message to our community that we will not allow predators to prey on our neighborhood. Boston residents should not have to raise their children in an environment of crime. Boston Police will persevere in our efforts to provide a safe community.”
“Operation Court Service” apprehended individuals responsible for a number of crimes ranging from but not limited to Assault and Battery, Drug Possession and Distribution, Larceny and Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle.
The following suspects were arrested:
· Roberto Ramos, 18, of Dorchester Assault and Battery
· Joaquim Martins, 29, of Dorchester Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B
· Frederico Fernandes, 32, of Dorchester Larceny Over $250
· Michael Depina, 18, of Dorchester Possession of Alcoholic Beverages by person Under 21
· Gilson Veiga, 22, of Dorchester Providing False Name to Police and Operating Motor Vehicle Without a License
· Jamal Brodie, 19, of Dorchester Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D
