Boston Police Neighborhood Drug Units Make Substantial Drug Arrests

Today members of both the Area E and Area B Drug Units in conjunction with the Drug Control Unit are pleased to announce significant drug seizures and arrests in several Boston neighborhoods.Police Commissioner Ed Davis stated, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the officers for their ceaseless efforts to put an end to illegal drug activity. These arrests send a clear message that the Boston Police Department will not tolerate individuals who prey on our community.”
On March 8, 2007, officers from the Area B Neighborhood Drug Unit and the Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant at 151 Homestead in Roxbury. As a result of the warrant, officers arrested Alexander Maldonado-Coriano, 29, of Roxbury and Narciso Agron, 34, of Roxbury and charged both suspects with Trafficking Class B Drugs (Cocaine). In addition to the arrests, officers seized significant amounts of cocaine.
Additionally, on March 8, 2007, again, officers from the Area B Neighborhood Drug Unit executed a search warrant at 19 Fessenden Street in Mattapan. As a result of the search, officers arrested Keon Leary, 27, of Mattapan and charged him with Possession and the Intent to Distribute Class A, B & D Drugs. Officers also recovered various amounts of marijuana, cocaine and ecstasy.
As a result of a mid-December drug investigation, officers from the Area E Neighborhood Drug Unit and the Drug Control Unit arrested Carlos Alberto Rivera, 33, of Dorchester and charged him with Trafficking Class A Drugs, the Distribution of Class A Drugs Within a 1,000 Feet of a School Zone and Possession with the Intent to Distribute both Class A & B Drugs. As a result of the arrest, officers were able to seize various amounts of heroin and cocaine.
As previously announced, drug units have been returned to neighborhood district stations throughout the city in an effort to provide each community with additional drug investigation resources and enhance quality of life for all city residents.
