Violation of Auto Laws Lands Speeder in JailAround 1:39am, this morning officers in District 14 were dispersing a crowd of pedestrians from the vicinity of 186 Harvard Avenue. At that time officers were in the street by marked cruiser when the suspect came onto Harvard Street at a high rate of speed. He applied his brakes at the last moment skidding to a stop about 5 feet from the officers. Officers approached the vehicle and the operator was unable to produce a driver’s license. Robert Macneil, 46, of Brighton was arrested and charged with Operating After Suspension.
Person Stabbed at Hammond and Tremont Streets
At 2:39am, officers in District 4 responded to Boston Medical Center for a report of a stabbing victim. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, who stated he was sitting in his motor vehicle when an unknown suspect reached into the vehicle and stabbed him in the shoulder. The victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Police Officer Hurt in Crash on Dorchester Avenue
Last night around 3:12am, officers in District 11 observed a brown vehicle operating at a high rate of speed on Adams Street. Further investigation by officers revealed the license plate belonged to another vehicle. Officers activated emergency lights and sirens as the vehicle turned from Church Street onto Hancock Street. Offices observed the vehicle fail to stop for the stop sign at Hancock and Pleasant Streets. Officers continued to follow the vehicle down Freeport St. turning onto Ellsworth St. Officers observed the vehicle still traveling at a high rate of speed down Dorchester Avenue. Officers observed another marked cruiser with lights and sirens proceeding inbound on Dorchester Avenue. Seconds later officers observed the suspects vehicle swerve into the wrong lane and struck the marked cruiser head on. The suspect fled on foot down Park Street and was found lying between two parked cars on Gibson Street. Jamaine Warner, 29, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon, Operating after Suspension, Attaching Plates and Leaving the Scene Personal Injury. Mr. Warner also had several outstanding warrants for Armed Robbery and Home Invasion out of Roxbury District Court. The officer was treated and release from a local area hospital.
