MURDER SUSPECT ARRESTED

Oscar Rosa, 20, of Natick has been arrested for the stabbing murder of 32-year-old Craig Vierra. On December 8, 2006, Mr. Vierra passed away as a result of injuries sustained from a November 26, 2006 stabbing incident.On November 26, 2006 at 2:15am, a Boston Police officer performing a detail on Lansdowne St. observed an altercation in front of 13 Lansdowne. The officer proceeded to that location and en route heard someone yelling that someone had been stabbed. The officer immediately observed several males fleeing from the scene and gave chase. While pursuing these fleeing individuals, one was observed to discard a knife. The individual that discarded the knife was caught and placed under arrest after a brief pursuit The suspect, Oscar Rosa, was subsequently positively identified and placed under arrest for Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was treated.
Upon Mr. Vierra’s death, Boston Police detectives applied for and were granted an arrest warrant for Oscar Rosa. Boston Police made every effort to locate and apprehend Rosa. This morning, Rosa arrived at Boston Municipal Court where he surrendered to homicide detectives relative to the murder warrant. Rosa was escorted to District 4 where he was booked and charged with Murder.
Rosa’s arraignment is expected today at Roxbury District Court.
