2 Suspects from Stolen Car ArrestedYesterday afternoon officers from the Boston Police assisted by Massachusetts State troopers arrested two suspects in a stolen car. Suspects, Jamal Daniels, 25, of Roslindale, and Shalikia Lyons, 20, of Dorchester were arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle.
Officers having been alerted regarding a stolen motor vehicle wanted in connection with a bank robbery and an armed robbery observed the motor vehicle on American Legion Hwy. heading towards Morton St. Officers followed the motor vehicle to Franklin Ave. and Shandon Rd. where the car was stopped without incident and both occupants placed under arrest. After both occupants were placed under arrest, suspect, Jamal Daniels, was brought back to the Sovereign Bank on American Legion Hwy. where he could not be positively identified as the suspect from the bank robbery.
Three Juveniles Arrested for Attempted Armed Robbery
About 5:32pm yesterday, the victim of an attempted armed robbery approached officers and alerted them that three young black males just attempted to rob him at gunpoint at the intersection of Temple St. and Hillcrest St. The victim reported that he was walking home from school when the three suspects approached him, displayed a handgun and demanded his money. The victim further reported that the three suspects fled when he attempted to wave for help. The victim supplied officers with a description of the suspects and their direction of flight which was broadcast. Officers located three individuals matching the suspects’ description a short while later and detained them. The victim was able to positively identify the three suspects and they were all arrested. During a search incident to arrest, one the suspects was found to be in possession of a replica semi-automatic firearm. A 14 year old juvenile from Mattapan, a 16 and 14 year old from Roxbury were all arrested and charged with Attempted Armed Robbery.
Stolen Cell Phone Lands Three in a “Cell”
Yesterday around 1:44am officers from District 2 placed three suspects: Bryant McGauley, 17, of Boston, Jermaine Davis, 21, of Roxbury, and another 14 year old juvenile of Mattapan under arrest for Larceny Over $250.
The victim of a stolen cell phone had reported her cell phone stolen on 11/1/06. The victim thereafter received numerous phone calls from the suspects offering to exchange the phone for cash. Detectives and officers from District 2 had the victim agree to meet the suspects to get her phone as per the suspects demand in exchange for cash. The suspects were arrested when they showed up at the agreed upon location. The victim’s phone was recovered from the suspects.
