More than 1000 runners will take to the streets as Boston welcomes Police Chiefs from across the world on Sunday, October 15, 2006. The 25th Annual Boston Police Chase will trace the steps of many prominent founding fathers of the United States. This years Police Chase, which is open to all participants, will benefit the Boston Police Departments Kids at Risk Program and begins at 8:00AM with a check in time of 6:00am.The race, sponsored by Liberty Mutual, the 113th Annual IACP Conference and Law Enforcement Education and Technology Exposition and the Boston Police Runner’s Club, will take runners on a 5K, course through scenic Boston through Fenway Park and give runners an opportunity to finish their run crossing the Boston Marathon Finish Line where a post race breakfast and award ceremony will be held. All registered runners will receive a finisher’s shirt, medal and full breakfast. Awards also will be presented in the Law Enforcement, Civilian and Wheelchair divisions.
The event is open to runners and wheelchair participants of all levels. Runners can advance register by paying a $20 registration fee (deadline October 8, 2006). Entries will be accepted on race day for $25. Race numbers and T-shirts will be distributed in Copley Square starting at 6:00 a.m. on the day of the race.
