Victim Shot in Bay VillageThis morning officers from District 1 responded to Church and Fayette Streets for a report of shots fired. On arrival the officer’s observed two people assisting the 20-year-old victim from Winston, NC suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen. Boston EMS transported the victim to the Boston Medical Center where he is being treated for a non-life threatening injuries. District 1 detectives are investigating this shooting.
Suspect Arrested For Stabbing and Robbery in Dorchester
Officers from District 11 responded to 417 Geneva Avenue this morning shortly after midnight for an investigation. The victim of a stabbing from a couple nights ago called 9-1-1 reporting the suspect was sitting in a car at that location. On arrival the officers removed the occupants of a vehicle while the victim, who was in the area, positively identified passenger Glenford Gatewood-Quilter, 19, of Mattapan. The victim reported that the suspect stabbed and robbed him while he was making a food delivery. The suspect will be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court where he will be charged with Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
Bachelorette Party Gone Wrong at 22 Union Street
A 23-year-old female from Sharon reported to police this morning at 1:15am she was the victim of an assault and battery. The victim stated the unknown suspect approached her, grabbed her hair and forced her knee into the victim’s forehead. The victim, who was attending a bachelorette party, stated the suspect fled the area. The victim refused any medical attention.
Alert Neighbors Notify Police of Car Break
At about 4:58am, officers from District 11 responded to the area of Taft and Pleasant Streets to investigate a report of two males breaking into a red truck. On arrival officers located two suspects in the area matching the description provided to them. Police stopped both suspects and both found to be in possession of a table saw and two buckets with assorted construction tools. Police arrested a 16-year-old male from Dorchester and charged him with Delinquency to wit: Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle, Larceny over 250, as well as a Child in Need of Service Warrant. The second suspect arrested was Roberto Mendes, 17, of Roxbury. He is charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Larceny from a Motor Vehicle over 250. Both will be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court.
Armed Robbery at Store 24 in Hyde Park
Officers from District 18 responded to the Store 24 on Hyde Park Avenue this morning at 4:32 to investigate a report of a robbery. On arrival officers found the victim lying face down on the floor by the cash register. The victim stated that the suspect, armed with a firearm, robbed the store and took the victim to the back room where he hit him in the back of the head and neck area. The victim was transported to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries. The suspect remains at large; District 18 detectives continue to investigate this robbery.
Two Arrested on the “Independence” in Boston Harbor
Security from the Boston Harbor Cruise Line called police this morning at 2:35am after catching two individuals breaking into the ship “Independence”. A witness observed Carlos Diaz, 27 and Jose Morales, 21, both homeless, climbing out a window of the boat docked at Long Wharf. Police recovered a trash bag being carried by the suspects that contained two cases of beer, two racks of wine and 6 cans of Red Bull. Damage was observed to the locks on the boat’s door as well as broken glass from a window. Both suspects will be arraigned tomorrow morning at the Boston Municipal Court and charged with Breaking and Entering a Ship, with Intent to Commit a Felony, and Larceny.
