Daily Incidents For September 7, 2006

Firearm Arrest at 16 Hopkins StreetYesterday around 6:20pm, officers in District 3 observed a motor vehicle with the drivers door lock popped traveling on Morton Street towards Evans Street. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop when the vehicle pulled over, but then abruptly pulled to the right and then left into the street. As the vehicle was turning officers observed one of the suspects attempt to exit the vehicle while it was still moving. At this time one of the suspects threw a bag of food to the ground and began to run around the side of 16 Hopkins Street. Officers observed the suspect throw a black firearm onto the grass in the backyard of 16 Hopkins Street. Officer chased the suspect and he was apprehended on Corbet Street. Titas Dirienzo, 17, of Mattapan was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B and Resisting Arrest. Officers did recover a Firearm and drugs from the suspect.
Two People Arrested For Shoplifting
Yesterday around 6:29pm, officers in District 1 responded to a radio call for a shoplifter at 340 Washington Street. On arrival officers spoke with a CVS Pharmacy Detective who stated that two suspects entered the store and placed several items into a backpack, then left the store without paying for the items. Michelle Fairneny, 25, of Stoneham and Ramon Soto, 30 of Boston were both arrested and charged with shoplifting over $200. Further investigation revealed that Fairneny had an outstanding warrant out of Woburn District Court for Possession of Class A
Man Arrested with Loaded Gun
Last night around 7:05pm, officers in District 5 responded to a radio call for two males with a gun inside the Beechland Housing Development. On arrival officers were informed that one male was showing a gun to another male. A description of the suspects was broadcasted and officers observed the two suspects heading down Walworth Street on foot. Both suspects fled in different directions, one suspect was apprehended behind 305 Beech Street and the second apprehended at Washington Street and Cedrus Street. Ernest Bernard, 19, of Dorchester charged with Disorderly and Steven Desire, 17, of Hyde Park charged with Unlawful Possession of Firearm and Disorderly. Officers did recover a firearm from one of the suspects.
Person Stabbed At 116 Northampton Street
Early this morning around 12:15am, officers in District 4 responded to a radio call for a person stabbed at Boston Medical Center. On arrival officers observed the victim suffering from a stab wound to the shoulder. The victim stated to officers that he was walking home when approached by a man and woman who asked him for a lighter. The victim stated to the two suspects that he did not have a lighter and attempted to walk away. At that time the victim was stabbed and his wallet was stolen. The victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
