Victim Dies After Stairs Collapse in BrightonOfficers from District 14 responded to 89 Dustin Street this morning at about 2:21am on a report of a person falling from a building. Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim, an unidentified white male, was on a spiral staircase outside of 89-91 Dustin Street when it collapsed. The victim was transported to St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center where he was pronounced. This incident is currently under investigation by police and Boston Inspectional Services.
Suspect Arrested After Stabbing Man at 911 Boylston Street
This morning at 2:08am, officers from District 4 responded to the fire House at 941 Boylston Street on a report of a person stabbed. On arrival the officers spoke with the victim who was being treated for a stab wound to the right arm. The 24-year-old male from Brighton, reports being in the men’s room of the Foggy Goggle when he was involved a verbal altercation with a suspect. The suspect then broke a beer bottle, struck the victim and fled the bar. The victim was transported to the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and treated for non-life threatening wounds. Further investigation revealed that the suspect was a student at a local college. That College Police Department responded and assisted officers in the investigation. Both departments responded to an address on Kelton Street where they located 25-year-old Kirt Dorsett. The suspect was transported to the hospital where he was positively identified by the victim. He was placed under arrest and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. He will be arraigned Monday morning in the Boston Municipal Court.
Hit and Run Suspect Wanted from Dorchester Incident
District 11 officers responded to a radio call this morning at about 2:06am on a report of a pedestrian struck at 445 Quincy Street in Dorchester. On arrival the officers observed Boston Firefighters and EMS treating a victim lying in the street in front of 439 Quincy Street suffering from severe head trauma. The victim was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced. According to witnesses, a grey motor vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed down Quincy Street when it hit the victim. The vehicle then continued toward Clarkson Street, stopped and returned to see what it struck. The suspect then fled down Quincy Street without making itself known.
