Monday evening, officers from District 11 responded to 16 Westwind Road in Dorchester where Boston EMS was treating a victim in cardiac arrest. The victim, Jaziel Ponce, a twenty-three month old male, from Lawrence was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced. The Medical Examiner’s Office has ruled the cause of death as a homicide by blunt trauma. The incident remains under investigation by the Boston Police Homicide Unit and the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office.
