As a reward for outstanding academic achievement, over 100 Boston Public School students received new bicycles and helmets. The Boston Police Athletic League (PAL) funded this initiative as a way of congratulating the students for their 100% attendance record. Youth Service Officers’ from each of the 11 police districts have worked closely with each of these dedicated pupils since the beginning of the school year.

The students visited police headquarters and picked up their new set of wheels accessorized with a new safety helmet. They also participated in a “bike rodeo” behind police headquarters and received valuable safety tips from the officers of the Tactical Bicycle Unit.

On hand for the last week\’s festivities included: Boston Police Superintendent in Chief Albert E. Goslin; Boston Police Activities League Director Bill Stoddard; Members of the Boston Police Command Staff and the Tactical Bicycle Unit; Boston Police Athletic League Board Members; over 100 3rd – 5th grade students and their proud parents and guardians
