Sovereign Bank Robbed in CharlestownThis morning at 9:20am, a white male walked into the Sovereign Bank on Rutherford Avenue and handed the teller a note demanding money. The suspect walked out of the bank and entered a waiting white Lincoln Navigator parked on Main Street being driven by a second suspect. Members of the Bank Robbery Task Force are investigating.
Hyde Park Business Robbed by Three Men
At 6:01pm last night, officers from District 18 responded to 1205 Hyde Park Avenue for a report of a robbery. According to the victim, three men, two armed with handguns, entered his business and demanded money. The suspects ushered the victim and a co-worker into a bathroom and taped their mouths before fleeing the business with an undisclosed amount of money. All three suspects remain at large. No injuries were reported to police.
Roxbury Woman Arrested for Forgery
A 20-year-old Roxbury woman was arrested yesterday afternoon after she attempted to cash a fraudulent check at the Bank of America at 1440 Dorchester Avenue. Nicole Thompson walked into the bank and asked a teller to cash a check drawn on the account of American Home Insurance Company. A check with the insurance company revealed the check to be a fake and police were called. Thompson was arrested inside the bank and will be arraigned on Monday in Dorchester District Court.
