The Boston Police Department is currently taking applications for the upcoming Police Cadet examination set for June 24, 2006 at the Blackman Auditorium, at Northeastern University. The application deadline has been extended to June 14, 2006.
The Cadet program is an on-the-job training program for those individuals interested in a career in law enforcement. Candidates must pass the June 24th examination to be eligible to be accepted to the Cadet Program. Once appointed, cadets undertake a rigorous six-week basic training course at the Boston Police Academy. Subsequently cadets are assigned to a variety of tasks throughout the Police Department.
To be eligible you must:
· Be between the ages of 18 and 24
· Be a resident of the City of Boston
· Be a United States Citizen
· Take and Pass the June 24, 2006, cadet examination
Exam applications are available at Boston Police Headquarters, Human Resource Division, One Schroeder Plaza, Boston. You can also access applications on-line at http://www.cityofboston.gov/jobs. For more information call 617-343-4677.
