Dorchester Home InvasionAt 8:24am this morning, officers in District 11 responded to 1331 Dorchester Avenue for a Home Invasion. According to the victim, two Asian males armed with a tire iron and a gun, entered his apartment and demanded money. The pair struck a female victim in the head causing a laceration, as she attempted to flee. Both suspects fled the apartment with jewelry and jumped into a silver Mercedes. The female victim was taken to Carney Hospital for further treatment.
Early Morning Robbery at Burger King
At about 6:50am this morning, officers in District 2 responded to the Burger King on Washington Street on a report of an armed robbery. According to employees, two men entered the establishment around 5:00am and demanded money. The suspects forced three employees into a freezer and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. They also stole a car from one of the employees to assist in their getaway. The vehicle is described as a 1998 red Oldsmobile Cutlass. The victims were able to free themselves and phone police for help.
Child Left Home Alone
Concerned neighbors flagged an officer from District 2 down at 10:49pm last night outside 96 E. Cottage Street. The neighbors could hear a child crying from inside apartment 1 and believed the child to be home alone. The officer made several attempts knocking on the apartment door to no avail. A forced entry was made and inside was a 2-year-old female left alone. Boston EMS responded and took the child to Boston Medical Center for an evaluation. DSS was notified and is investigating. A male claiming to be the child’s father arrived home and told the police he went out for milk, however officers observed no milk in his possession.
Gun Recovered, Two Arrested After Shots Fired
Officers in District 2 responded to a shots fired call last night around 8:54pm at 8 Waumbeck Street in Roxbury. Witnesses told the officers that a male had just pulled gun and fired shots into the air. Upon further investigation officers arrested Jonathan Embry, 19 of Dorchester and a Female Juvenile in connection with the shooting. A .38 caliber Smith and Wesson was recovered.
Gypsy Cab Driver Cries No Fare!
Officers in District 2 observed a man known to them as a Gypsy cab driver parked and standing outside 140 Dudley Street at 6:40pm last evening. As they were speaking with the man, a prospective fare approached and asked for a cab ride. The only ride offered at that point was a ride to District 2 for Courtney Robinson, 43 of South Boston. Robinson was arrested for violating the Hackney Carriage laws. His car was towed.
Bank Robbed in Charlestown
A man wearing a white hardhat, blue nylon jacket, white pants and sunglasses walked into the Cooperative Bank at 201 Main Street and demanded money. The suspect displayed a gun and fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash inside a bag. A dye pack was given and officers located the bag of currency on nearby School Street with the dye pack deployed. The suspect made good his escape.
