Officers from District 11 responded to a radio call this morning at 2:13am for a report of shots fired at 196 Hamilton Street in Dorchester. On arrival the officers located a 24-year-old male lying on the ground opposite 190 Hamilton Street suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced.As a result of the work performed by the responding District 11 officers and the follow up investigation that has been conducted since 2:13am by homicide investigators, two people were charged in connection with this murder. The suspects were arrested this morning on firearm related charges in the Dorchester area. Tonight investigators from the Boston Police Homicide Unit have charged the suspects with the following charges. Police charged William Badgett, 19, of Mattapan with Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. Suspect #2 Darnell Ricks, 18, of Dorchester is charged with being an Accessory after the fact of Murder.
