Officers from District 1 responded to a radio call this morning at 9:59 for a bank robbery at 710 Washington Street, the Bank of America. On arrival officers spoke with witnesses who stated that a suspect entered the bank, approached a window, threatened the teller stating he had a gun, and robbed the bank. The suspect is described as a 5’6”, white male, 165 lbs., in his 30’s with a mustache, wearing a firefighters helmet, an orange and black waist length firefighters jacket. The suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency. Moments later, New England Medical Center Police recovered a fire hat and raincoat in a bathroom inside the hospital.
