Two Arrested for Public DrinkingWhile on random patrol on Cambridge Street last evening at approximately 6:30pm, officers from District 1 observed two individuals consuming alcohol in public. When the officers ordered the highly intoxicated suspects to get rid of the open container, they refused. Raphael Desilus and Sulemanu Balami, both 25 of Boston, were arrested for Public Drinking and taken to the local police station for booking.
N.H. Man Arrested for Assault with Gun
While driving his vehicle into the entrance of the West Broadway Development last night, a South Boston man was encountered by another vehicle that started following him. The suspect then exited the car and pointed a firearm at the victim before getting in his car and leaving. Witnesses to the scene gave the suspect’s location to the officers, who found him on Flaherty Way. Xavier Lopez, 23, of Hollis, N.H. was found hiding in a rear bedroom of an apartment covered by clothing. He was arrested and charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm.
Cabdriver Robbed on Clarkwood
Officers responded to a radio call at 1:31am for a robbery in progress at 5 Clarkwood Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke to the victim, a cabdriver from Hyde Park, who stated he was approached by an unknown black male wearing a gray hoodie, dark sweats and a “B” baseball cap. The suspect asked the cabdriver if he wanted anything to which the cabdriver replied no. Then the suspect grabbed money out of the victim’s shirt pocket before he ran off. Officers did a search of the area but to no avail. The incident remains under investigation.
Arlington Street Trespassers Arrested
Last night while on patrol on Arlington Street, officers observed two females standing in the doorway of a building that had clearly marked “No Trespassing” signs. The officers took the suspects into custody and later found that one of the suspects, Jennifer Kirby, 39, of Malden, had a variety of outstanding warrants, including Parole Violations, Larceny, Assault and Battery and an OUI. The Warrant Unit was notified and the other suspect was summonsed for Trespassing.
