Detail Officer Arrests Two in Chinatown RestaurantAn alert waiter in a restaurant at 83 Essex Street observed a signature on a credit card receipt that did not match the signature on the credit card used to pay the bill this morning at 3:35am. When the waiter confronted the two patrons and asked for identification, they told the waiter their identification cards were in their car. One suspect accompanied by a security guard began to walk to a vehicle to retrieve an I.D. at which time, a Boston Police Detail Officer approached the suspect. When the suspect observed the officer he fled on foot. The officer entered the restaurant, and after a brief struggle arrested the other suspect, Feras Warde, 37, of Westford. While driving to District 1 to complete arrest reports, the detail officer observed the other suspect running on Essex Street. After a lengthy foot chase, officers from District 1 arrested Mohammed Alati, 38, of Revere. Both will be charged with Receiving a Stolen Credit Card, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card for the purpose of Committing a Larceny, Defrauding the Inn Keeper, and Resisting Arrest. Both will be arraigned on Monday morning in the Boston Municipal Court.
Juvenile Arrested on West Newton Street for Firearms Violations
Yesterday afternoon at about 12:50pm, officers from District 4 in the South End arrested a 15-year-old male on West Newton Street. The juvenile was wanted out of the Roxbury District Court for two warrants. He will be arraigned on Monday at the Boston Juvenile Court for Delinquency to wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. The firearm used in this crime was already recovered at the original incident.
Search Warrant Executed on Wayland Street in Dorchester
Members of the Drug Control Unit in District 2 secured a Dorchester District Court warrant for an address on Wayland Street in Dorchester. Last night at about 6:15pm, the warrant was executed and police arrested Katie Beckeles, 29, of Dorchester and charged her with Trafficking Class B Drugs. She will be arraigned in the Roxbury District Court. Officers recovered over a thousand dollars in U.S. Currency and about 40 grams of crack cocaine.
16-Year-Old Arrested in East Boston Violating the Auto Laws
This morning at 12:24am, an officer assigned to District 7 observed a gray Jaguar being operated by a 16-year-old male who failed to stop for a stop sign at Saratoga and Moore Streets. After stopping the car, the officer discovered that the operator has had his license for less then 6 months, had 3 other people in the vehicle and was operating after hours. He was placed under arrest and transported to District 7.
Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Two Arrests and a Recovered Firearm
While patrolling in the area of Standish Street in Mattapan this morning at about 3:07am, officers from District 3 observed a vehicle being operated with revoked registration plates. The officers conducted a traffic stop and asked the four people in the vehicle to step out so it could be towed. The officers observed a passenger in the back seat throw an item on the floor. Officers recovered a loaded firearm from the back seat floor area. Police arrested both occupants of the back seat and charged them with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Deon Young, and Joseph Desgates, both 21, of from Mattapan, will be arraigned Monday in Dorchester District Court.
