Roxbury Man Catches More Than Fish at Millennium ParkWhile on random patrol at Millennium Park yesterday at around noon, an officer observed a vehicle parked on a grassy area with no one around. A registration check revealed that the owner of the vehicle had two warrants for his arrest out of Dorchester District Court. At this time, the owner of the vehicle, Danny Odom, 46, of Roxbury, approached the vehicle and told the officer he was fishing off the bridge with his friend. He was placed under arrest and transported to the local station where he was booked for two outstanding warrants for Violating a Restraining Order.
Man Stabbed on Washington and Basile Streets in Roslindale
At approximately 6:45pm last evening, an officer from District 5 responded to Faulkner Hospital on a report of a victim with a stab wound. The victim, 25, stated that he was walking near Washington and Basile Streets when two unknown black males approached him and demanded his black jacket. While struggling with the suspects, the victim suffered a stab wound to his right arm by an unseen weapon. A description of the suspects was broadcasted over proper channels and the incident remains under investigation.
Man Hit by Taxi at Gas Station
This morning at 12:45am, officers responded to a radio call at Park Drive and Boylston Street for a threat. The victim, a 39-year-old Roslindale resident, drove into the gas station where he was blocked by a taxicab. When he exited his vehicle, the taxi driver drove toward the victim, striking him with the cab. Then the suspect exited the cab and began making threats and verbally abusing him. The suspect returned to his vehicle and fled the scene before officers arrived. No listing of the taxicab’s medallion number could be attained.
Traffic Stop Leads to Two Arrests in Morton
Early this morning at about 2:00am, officers from District 3 were conducting a routine traffic stop on Wilcock Street. The owner of the vehicle, Tyrin Thomson, 28, of Dorchester, was in violation of the Sex Offender Registry. When officers approached the vehicle, a 16-year-old passenger from Roxbury attempted to exit the vehicle without being told to do so. When officers frisked him, they found a firearm in his pocket. Thomson was arrested and charged with Failure to Register as a Sex Offender and the juvenile was arrested and charged with Delinquent to Wit: Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition.
Broken Brake Light Leads to Drug/Gun Arrest
Officers pulled over a vehicle last night on Mountain Avenue in Dorchester for a broken brake light this morning at approximately 2:20am. The driver of the vehicle was placed under arrest for refusing to submit his license, which was suspended. Before the vehicle was towed, officers searched the trunk and found large amounts of marijuana, money and a loaded firearm. Osigwe Mohammad, 21, of Allston, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition as well as Distribution and Possession of Class D Drugs.
