Security Guard Violates LTC RestrictionsEarly yesterday morning, officers responded to a radio call on Creston Street for a male with a gun. Upon arrival, officers observed a Mitsubishi Eclipse leave the scene at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle was eventually stopped and the suspect willingly exited the vehicle. He had a firearm but also obtained a license to carry because he was an Alliance security guard. The suspect, a 24-year-old Dorchester man, received a citation for driving erratically and will be summoned to court for a violation of his License to Carry restrictions.
Brick Man Goes Berserk
Officers responded to State and Congress Streets yesterday for a male throwing bricks at an office building. The suspect caused crowds of people to flee the area. When the suspect approached the officers, he refused to put the brick down, swinging and striking a police officer on the chest with it. He was handcuffed and arrested. Lenin Lopez, 23, of Boston was charged with Assault and Battery of a Police Officer and Disturbing the Peace.
Man Stabbed for Not Giving a Dollar
A 22-year-old Jamaica Plain resident was walking toward the Tropical Market when a black male wearing a red jacket approached him and asked him for money. The victim said no then went into the store. When he came back out with a few items he purchased, the suspect approached him again, questioning the victim for lying to him about not having any money. Then the suspect stabbed the victim several times in the arm and chest. The victim was transported to a local hospital and the suspect, Larry Wilkins, 23, of Roxbury, was found and arrested on charges of Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery.
Juveniles Rob Three in Mattapan
Three Dorchester residents, two 18 year olds and one 16 year old, were walking on Walk Street in Mattapan when five black males approached them and robbed them of various clothing, cell phones and CD players. One of the suspects appeared to have a gun. The victims walked into the police station and reported the crime. Officers in District 3 found the suspects and conducted a threshold inquiry of them. The victims positively identified the suspects and they were all arrested for armed robbery. Four of the suspects were juveniles from Mattapan and the fifth was a 14-year-old Hyde Park resident. The victims denied medical attention at that time.
Car Chase Leads to Two Arrests
While on patrol early this morning at 12:20am, officers from District 11 observed a green Jeep Wrangler driving erratically on Draper Street. The vehicle sped off at high speeds, running through red lights and driving on sidewalks. The officers followed the vehicle as the suspects ignored the activated emergency lights. The suspect vehicle eventually stopped when it crashed into another car on Charles Street. The suspect in the driver’s seat exited the vehicle, grabbed his waist and attempted to flee the scene. Once the officer apprehended the suspect, they seized a firearm from his pocket. The suspects, John Pereira, 22, of Carlisle and Antonio Rodrigues, 20, of Dorchester, were arrested and transported to the local station for booking.
