On Wednesday March 29, at 6:30pm officers in District 6 responded to Fargo Street and Summer Street in South Boston for a motor vehicle accident. Officers located the victim, a 45-year-old male from South Boston lying on the center island suffering from multiple bone fractures. According to the victim and a witness, they were riding motorcycles along Summer Street and became involved in an argument with a motorist in a car. The argument continued and ended with the vehicle operator forcing the victim off the road throwing him from his motorcycle. The suspect then fled the scene without making himself known. The victim was taken to Boston Medical Center.Today Detectives from District 6 arrested 34-year-old Thomas Porro of South Boston wanted in connection with the Hit and Run. Porro is charged with Leaving the Scene Causing Personal Injury and Assault charges. He will be arraigned in the South Boston Division of the Boston Municipal Court on Wednesday morning. Detectives are still looking for the suspect’s vehicle wanted in connection with this incident. An earlier press release incorrectly identified the car as a Mazda. The correct car description is a Silver colored Nissan Maxima. Anyone who sees a car matching this description is urged to contact the Boston Police at 617-343-4742.
