Update on Bedford Street Car JackingLast night at about 4:22pm, officers spoke with a 41-year-old victim from Roxbury who stated she had just placed her children in her car, which was parked at 80 Bedford Street. While she was walking around the rear of the vehicle, a suspect ran past her and entered the vehicle and drove away. The victim’s 17-year-old daughter who was seated in the passenger seat, attempted to remove the keys from the ignition when the suspect punched her in the face. The second child, age 9, jumped out of the vehicle when the suspect punched her sister. The 17-year-old escaped from the car near the Hyatt Hotel. Police are still searching for this suspect who is described as being a black male, about 30 years old, thin build, wearing blue jeans and a navy blue hooded sweatshirt. The suspect is operating the victim’s 1999 Blue Ford Explorer with a sticker of a gold fish on the rear window of the SUV.
Hair It Is………..
On Friday night at about 9:45pm, officers from District 3 responded to the “Hair It Is Barbershop” at 1186 Blue Hill Avenue to investigate possible gambling and drug activity at that location. While inside, officers observed numerous individuals drinking and evidence of gambling in a back room. Also recovered were five plastic bags believed to be marijuana. The owner of the shop arrived ten minutes after the officers entered the shop. Detectives will summon the owner into court for Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D substance. A license premise violation was also issued for controlled substance on premise, gambling on premise, allowing liquor to be consumed on premise, no license, license not posted conspicuously, and manager not present on premise.
Don’t Bring Attention to Yourself if You Are WANTED
Officers assigned to District 13 were patrolling in the Egleston Square area on April Fools Day when they observed a vehicle obstructing the flow of traffic. A person in the vehicle then exited the vehicle and made a gesture to someone in the Square. The officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and discovered the driver, William Perez, 26, of Dorchester to have a suspended license as well as being wanted in Roxbury District Court for another violation of the auto laws. The passenger of the vehicle, John Hernandez, 24, of Hyde Park was wanted on three Dorchester District Court warrants for Possession of Burglarious Tools, Buying, Receiving Stolen goods, and Destruction or Injury of Personal Property. Both were placed under arrest and transported to District 13.
Shots Fired at Apartment in Charlestown Projects
This morning officers from District 15 responded to 41 Corey Street on a report of windows being smashed and shots fired. On arrival, the officer discovered several broken windows in the three bedroom windows and the kitchen. Ballistic evidence was recovered both inside and outside the apartment. According to witnesses, a group of about 15-20 white males were responsible for this incident. Police searched the area for suspects to no avail. The incident remains under investigation.
House Party in Roxbury Leads to Arrest
A 16-year-old female from Dorchester was arrested for an outstanding warrant this morning at 5:19am outside of 34 Blue Hill Avenue. Police had responded to multiple radio calls at that address for a loud party. Police reported over 50 people in the street and four to five vehicles spinning their tires in the street stopping traffic. The owner of the dwelling will be summons into court for Keeper of a Disorderly House. The 16-year-old was wanted in Chelsea Court for Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
Three Arrested in South Boston Damaging Cars
At 3:12am, officers from District 6 responded to 169 I Street for a report of four males punching and kicking mirrors off parked cars in the area. Police discovered that four vehicles had been vandalized all along the Street. Further investigation revealed the suspects fled into an apartment on I Street. Police arrested Justin Wolf, 23, of Monroe, CT, David Whalen, 22, of Wallingford, CT and Michael Kodish, 23, of South Boston. All three will be arraigned in South Boston District Court and charged with Destruction of Person Property.

Officers from District 3 responded to 1624 Blue hill Avenue last night on a report of a shoplifter at the “Hair Stop”. A witness reported that she observed Jimmie Harris, 47, of Mattapan hide behind some shelves in the store and then place a wig inside his shirt. When the suspect was confronted about stealing the wig, he became combative. Following a brief struggle, the wig was recovered and the suspect fled the shop. Police located the suspect at the bus stop where he was placed under arrest. He’ll be arraigned tomorrow in the Dorchester District Court.
