Framingham 3 year-old Goes for Swim in HarborA 3-year-old boy from Framingham will be bragging to his friends about his weekend in Boston. Officers assigned to the Boston Police Harbor Unit responded to 70 Rowes Wharf on Sunday afternoon at 2:10 for a report of a person in the water. The officers spoke with the child’s father who reported that he let his son out of his stroller. The child began to run, tripped and fell into the water. The father jumped into the water and with the assistance of the hotel security pulled the child to safety. Both Dad and son were transported to the New England Medical Center for evaluation.
Couple Surrender Firearms in Brighton
A responsible couple entered the District 14 police station on Sunday morning and surrendered two firearms. The couple stated they belonged to one of their parents who had died. Neither one of them was licensed and the firearms were placed safely in police custody.
Fire Set Outside 1680 VFW Parkway
Officers from District 5 responded to the area of 1680 VFW Parkway on Sunday afternoon after receiving information that three kids were setting a fire in the rear of that address. The responding officers observed a large brush fire in the empty lot in the rear of the address. The three suspects fled on foot and remain at large. No damage or injuries were reported.
Virgin Records Customer Attacks Employee
A store clerk at Virgin Records on Newbury Street received a hit of her own yesterday when another customer, 39-year-old Nizza Ohovwore, approached her and began asking her personal questions. When she turned away from the suspect, he charged at her, striking her several times on the back of her head. Employees of the store held the suspect while police responded. The victim refused medical attention and the suspect was transported to D-4 for booking.
Shaw’s Shoplifter Resists Arrest
Last night at approximately 8:40pm, an officer assigned to a paid detail at Shaw’s Supermarket on Huntington Avenue observed a white male fighting with store employees as he tried to leave the store, knocking one to the ground and striking another in the chest. The officer ordered the suspect to stop but he refused. A violent struggle ensued; the suspect punched the Police Officer in the head and chest and then fled on foot. The Police Officer requested assistance over his police radio and with assistance from District 4 officers in the South End, the suspect was stopped and arrested.
Man Arrested For O.U.I., Almost Hits Police Cruiser in East Boston
A Boston Police Anti-Crime Unit in District 7 was forced to make a defensive driving maneuver last night in East Boston to avoid a collision. The unmarked Anti-Crime unit was almost hit at Porter Street and London Street in East Boston last evening around 7:50pm by a motor vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign. The operator of the vehicle, Jose Delgado, 34 of Roxbury, was placed under arrest for O.U.I. after failing a field sobriety test administered by the Anti-Crime unit Officers that stopped the vehicle that almost hit them.
