Two Subjects Arrested in Maine on Bank Robbery Charges

Below is a News Release from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of State Police Public Affairs UnitOn Friday, March 3, 2006 the Maine State Police arrested two subjects as a result of an ongoing investigation by Massachusetts law enforcement relating to three armed robberies in Massachusetts. Both subjects are being held at the Aroostook County Jail in Houlton, Maine.
Massachusetts State Police Lt. Al Zani, assigned to the FBI Bank Robbery Task Force
contacted the Maine State Police earlier this morning regarding arrest warrants he had secured for two subjects wanted in Massachusetts.
Subject Thomas I. Hickey 36-years of age and Meghan Steeves 22-years of age from South Hamilton, MA were wanted in Massachusetts on warrants charging them with Armed Robbery and Conspiracy for a robbery that occurred on February 25, 2006 at the Sovereign Bank, 437 Rutherford Avenue, Charlestown, MA.
Subject Hickey was additionally charged with 2 counts of Armed Robbery for robberies which occurred on February 12, 2006 at the Dunkin Donuts, 99 Cambridge Street, Charlestown and April 25, 2005 at the Citizens Bank, 5 Austin Street, Charlestown, MA.
These arrests were a result of a cooperative effort between the State Police and members of the Boston Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation Bank Robbery Task Force, members from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Hamilton Police Department, the Maine State Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
