Drunk Driver Causes Accident in West RoxburyAn officer from District 5 responded to a radio call for a motor vehicle accident last night at approximately 10:07pm. The victim was reportedly driving through a green light on Lagrange Street in West Roxbury and was struck by a car that went through a red light on Centre Street. The suspect drove off to a side street and parked, then walked back and turned himself in. The suspect, Dennis Cataloni of West Roxbury, appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested. The two victims, a 33-year-old woman from Hyde Park and her 12-year-old son, declined medical attention.
Boston Resident Chased for Drug Money in Charlestown
An officer assigned to Charlestown observed a male running from the Bunker Hill project onto Medford Street and down Terminal Street. The officer stopped the individual to check on his well-being. The male stated he was being chased by a suspect armed with a firearm. The suspect was owed $300 for heroin that this male had purchased from him. The male attempted to explain to the suspect that he would pay him when he received his tax return. The officers searched the area for the suspect. He remains at large.
Suspect Arrested on Monadnock Street with a Loaded Firearm
While patrolling in the Dudley Street and Monadnock Street area at 1:30am, officers from District 2 observed a male acting suspicious. As the officers approached the suspect, the male fled on foot. The officer pursued him and was able to stop him on Monadnock Street. Further investigation revealed that the suspect was in possession Class B and D substances. A second officers observed the suspect bending over and dropping an object on the sidewalk near 45 Monadnonck Street. The officer recovered a loaded .45 firearm at that location. Police arrested Michael Laws, 30, of Roxbury. He will be arraigned and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, Possession with intent to Distribute Class B, and Possession of Class D.
Person Shot in East Boston
This morning at 8:00am, police from District 7 responded to a call for a person shot at a residential location on Condor Street. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. District Detectives continue to investigate this incident.
