Five Guns Seized, Four Arrested in DorchesterBeginning late Monday night and running into yesterday morning, members of the Citywide Drug Control Unit conducted an investigation in the area of Dorchester Avenue and Hurlcroft Avenue. The investigation lasted several hours and led the officers to a motel in Braintree and back to Boston. Based on information gathered during the investigation, officers recovered 5 handguns, several rounds of ammunition and arrested four individuals in connection with the incident. Mercedes Farguarson, 32, Jason Remson, 30, Gloria Waters, 28, and Rakeli Brown, 31, all face illegal gun charges. This investigation is ongoing.
Mattapan Man Arrested Passing Fake Check
A 48-year-old Mattapan man was arrested at 2:27pm yesterday after attempting to cash a phony check at the Bank of America at 1440 Dorchester Avenue. Scott Williams presented the teller a check in the amount of $976.35 drawn on an account of the St. Elizabeth Medical Center. The teller discovered the check to be a forgery and alerted police. Williams was arrested inside the bank.
Firearm Found in Roxbury Backyard
About 2:36pm yesterday, officers from District 2 went to 77 Burrell Street to recover a firearm. A resident told police she discovered the silver gun while she was cleaning her yard. The gun was photographed and forwarded to ballistics for further testing.
Victim Robbed After Driving Suspect to East Boston
A male in his twenties claiming to have a gun, forced a 47-year-old Boston man into his car outside on Norway Street at Edgerly Road early this morning. The suspect demanded a ride to East Boston and was taken to a parking lot on Border Street. Once in East Boston, three other males joined the suspect and they robbed the victim of some money and his cell phone. A search of the area was made but no suspects could be located at this time. No injuries were reported and investigators continue work this case.
