Boston Police Incidents for January 29, 2006

Female Shot in Foot Sitting OutsideOfficers from District 2 responded to the area of Bishop Joel Smith Way for shots fired around 1:09am this morning. Officers located a 19-year-old Dorchester woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the left foot. According to the victim she was sitting on her front steps and saw two men arguing in the street, one of the men fired a shot and struck her in the foot. She was taken to an area hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.
Shots Fired Outside West Roxbury Party
Officers from District 5 stopped a vehicle around 1:33am this morning on LaGrange Street believed to be fleeing the scene of a shots fired call at 14 Elgin Street. The occupants were questioned and released. Additional officers went to 14 Elgin Street and observed a large party breaking-up. Officers learned that shots had been fired outside that address as the crowd dispersed. Officers did find a 2005 Hyundai with a bullet lodged in the windshield. This ballistic evidence was recovered and will be processed. According to witnesses, an unwanted partygoer began firing off a gun and fled the area before police arrived. This investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.
Male Shot Inside South End Club
District 4 officers responded to 888 Tremont Street, The Mirage, for a person shot at 2:10 this morning. Located was a 28-year-old Jamaica Plain man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the shoulder. He was taken to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition. According to witnesses a fight had erupted on the second level of the club and one shot was heard after the fight. Patrons at the club immediately exited the room and fled the area. No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
Three Guns Recovered in Hyde Park Home
District 18 officers went to 90 Blake Street Mattapan to serve court documents on a resident. While on scene, officers recovered three handguns and several rounds of ammunition. The guns were seized and 57-year-old Charles Evans was arrested for possessing the guns without being licensed.
