Tonight at 5pm officers from District C6 in South Boston sent a plain-clothes police cadet under the age of 21 into 15 liquor stores to ensure that the store clerks were checking identification. Seven out of fifteen stores sold alcohol to the cadet without asking to see identification and the following were issued licensed premise violations:Old Colony Wine & Spirits on 259 Dorchester Street, Jimmy\’s Corner Liquor Store on 143 P Street, Julies Wine & Spirits on 295 Old Colony Avenue, Value Liquors at 10 Howard Johnson Plaza, Andrew Square Liquors on 605 Dorchester Avenue, The Hub at 613 East Broadway Street and Dorgan\’s Package Store on 662 East Broadway Street.
Owners of the stores will be summonsed to appear before the licensing board and employees who sold to the under aged police cadet will be summonsed into court.
The officers returned to those stores that refused to sell alcohol without identification and thanked them for their due diligence.
