In the posting “Two Arrested for Car-Jacking in South End” it was incorrectly reported that two individuals were arrested in the area of 400 Frontage Road. In fact only one individual was arrested in connection with the incident. A second individual was questioned and released. Complete details of the incident are below.Around 11:00am this morning an officer from District 4 was approached by a victim of a car jacking that just occurred on Washington Street at Union Park. According to the victim, he was stopped at a traffic light and exchanged words with two males crossing the street in front of his car. The victim got out of his car after being struck in the face by a plastic bottle thrown at him by one of the males. After a brief altercation, one of the males, a 16-year-old Juvenile from Roslindale, jumped into the victim’s car and fled on Wareham Street towards Albany Street. The car, a 2005 Gray Honda Civic was spotted by a Sergeant on Wareham Street with the suspect behind the wheel. The Sergeant attempted to stop the suspect as he took of onto Albany Street eventually driving into a Boston Police Parking garage on Frontage Road. The Honda smashed into a parked Boston Police tow truck, ripping the Honda’s rear bumper from the car. The suspect then jumped from the car with officers chasing him on foot. He was quickly apprehended, and after a violent struggle, taken into custody. The Juvenile faces the following charges: Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Assault and Battery, Resisting Arrest, Driving without a License, Failure to Stop for a Police Officer, Speeding and Driving to Endanger. Arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday in Boston Municipal Court.
