This afternoon at 13:14, officers assigned to District 13 responded to 3142 Washington Street, the D and D Communications, on a report of an armed robbery in progress. While in route to the Washington Street location, the officers were provided with additional information that four suspects had robbed the store and fled on foot on Washington Street toward Egleston Square. With further information, two officers responded to 12 Beethoven Street in Jamaica Plain. At that location, two suspects were seen crouched in an attempt to hide inside the vacant house. After entering the vacant house, the officers found all four suspects on the porch where the suspects resisted arrest. After a violent struggle, all four were placed under arrest. Recovered from the scene were a loaded Tec-9 firearm, black ski mask, a nine-inch knife and a three-inch folding knife. One suspect was also found to be in possession of five bags of marijuana. The following people were arrested: Jawuane Hightower, 17, of Roxbury, Edward Twine, 17, of Roxbury both will be charged with Armed Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Also arrested were a 14- year-old and 15-year-old male from Roxbury. Both will be charged with Delinquency to wit Armed Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D. All four will be arraigned the West Roxbury Court Tuesday morning.
