Commissioner Cox and members of the Boston Police Department were proud to be part of various events in the City yesterday honoring the more than 200 Bay State residents whose lives were taken on September 11, 2001.

Today, members of Boston Police Academy Recruit Class #65-25 completed the traditional class run which begins at the Boston Police Academy in Hyde Park and winds through neighborhoods leading to Boston Police Headquarters at One Schroeder Plaza in Roxbury. The run is symbolic of the distance the recruits have traveled during the six-month training curriculum
Commissioner Cox joined our partners from the Boston Police Foundation COP and AT&T to provide 200 laptops and new backpacks to school-aged students across Boston. Each laptop, loaded with Microsoft Office, is being provided to youth in each police district/neighborhood – as well as to students supported through our Crimes Against Children Unit, Youth Violence
