Thank you for visiting the District E-18 web page! This southwest corner of the City known as Hyde Park is a unique community that provides single and multi-family dwellings, numerous areas containing “Mom & Pop” businesses, a multitude of playgrounds, and open spaces for outside enjoyment near the Blue Hills. The area has a suburban atmosphere since it borders on Milton to the south and Dedham to the west.
The widely diverse population in Hyde Park is reflected in over fifty (50) Neighborhood Associations and Crime Watch Groups on this District that represent every section of the District which includes; Cleary Square, Cummins/American Legion/Canterbury, Fairmount Hill, Forest Hills, Logan Square, Readville, River Street, Stony Brook and Wolcott Square.
The Commander and Officers of District E-18 strive to provide effective police services to the residents of Hyde Park. This is accomplished by using the following

Response to Calls for Service
Officers must be professional in attitude, appearance, and respond in a timely manner.
Open Communication
Provide available information on crime prevention and safety, crime patterns, and access to the Community Service Office and/or the Captain via his open door policy.
Transparency
To inform residents of policy and/or regulatory issues of police services as it affects Hyde Park residents.
Partnerships
Work with businesses, community providers, churches, and residents, as well as City agencies as a connector for information and services for a positive quality of life.
Positive Work Environment
The Captain’s open door policy is offered to Officers and Civilian personnel of District E-18 to preclude any negative issues that may arise.
