At about 9:00 a.m., on Wednesday September 2, 2026, officers assigned to District 2 (Roxbury) conducted an enforcement initiative aimed at addressing quality-of-life issues, building trust with the community, and increasing police visibility throughout the Roxbury and Dorchester neighborhoods of Boston.
This initiative focuses on enforcing motor vehicle laws and city ordinances related to the safe and legal operation of scooters, mopeds, and motorcycles, while curbing unsafe, illegal, and disruptive behavior.
Throughout the operation, officers towed sixteen (16) mopeds, scooters, and motorcycles; towed two (2) cars for illegally attached license plates; issued twenty (20) citations; issued one (1) criminal summons; and arrested one (1) individual for operating a stolen motorcycle.
Throughout the summer, officers have continued to work diligently to make our streets safer. During the past month, District 2 officers have removed ninety (90) illegally operated mopeds, scooters, and motorcycles from our streets.
The Boston Police Department remains committed to improving traffic safety and will continue to conduct enforcement operations across the city.
