Investigation Update: Suspect Arrested After Hitting Pedestrian with Motor Vehicle

Investigation Update: About 9:15 PM, on Friday, August 21, 2026, Luis Serrano, 28, of Roxbury, surrendered himself to Detectives at District A-1 (Downtown). The suspect was wanted on a warrant issued out of Charlestown District Court for Assault to kill. A Massachusetts Uniform Citation was also issued to the suspect for Reckless operation of a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident resulting in person injury. The suspect is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At about 7:05 PM, on Thursday, August 20, 2026, officers assigned to District A-1/A-15 (Charlestown) responded to the area of 161 Bunker Hill Street in Charlestown for a radio call of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Upon arrival, officers observed a motor vehicle had crashed through a fence and was stuck. The operator of the vehicle had fled the scene. Boston EMS rendered medical aid and transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.

While on scene, detectives were advised that the victim and suspect had been in a prior argument before the incident.
