Youth Violence Strike Force Arrests 16-year-old Juvenile Male with Large Capacity Firearm

At approximately 9:00 PM, on Friday, April 3, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force responded to the area of Metcalf Court in Jamaica Plain following a report of a large party. Upon arrival, officers observed a juvenile male seated with a group of approximately eight individuals. The male stood up and began walking away at a fast pace.

As officers exited their cruiser to speak with the group, they observed the male break into a full sprint. A second individual also stood up and fled alongside him. One of the individuals was seen clutching the left side of his jacket while running.

The two individuals entered an open doorway on Metcalf Court and ran up the stairs. As they attempted to close an apartment door behind them, officers intervened and detained both individuals.

A pat frisk was conducted, and a firearm was recovered from one suspect’s jacket pocket. While officers were placing that suspect in handcuffs, the second individual attempted to interfere, refused to comply with orders, and struck an officer. The situation escalated as the group became combative, and a third individual attempted to assault officers.

With additional officers assisting from District E-13 and Boston Housing Police, the scene was brought under control, and three suspects were taken into custody. The recovered firearm was later identified as a ghost gun equipped with a large-capacity extended magazine loaded with ten rounds.

The 16-year-old Juvenile Male was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court for the following charges:

–          Delinquent to wit; Unlawful possession of a firearm

–          Delinquent to wit; Carrying a loaded firearm

–          Delinquent to wit; Unlawful possession of Ammunition

–          Delinquent to wit; Unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device

The remaining two suspects will be summonsed to West Roxbury District Court for assault and battery on a Police Officer, and disorderly conduct.
