Update: Homicide Victim Identified In Death Investigation at Blue Hill Avenue and Georgia Street, Dorchester

At approximately 11:00 PM on Saturday, May 03, 2025, Officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a Person Shot in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Georgia Street in Dorchester.

Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Boston EMS responded and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased. The victim has been identified as 35-year-old Shakar Caterson of Dorchester. 

The Boston Police Department’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the BPD Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470.
