At approximately 7:48 PM on Monday, April 21, 2025, officers assigned to District D-14 (Brighton/Allston) responded to a radio call for an unknown incident, possible domestic violence incident at 82 Glenville Avenue in Allston.
Upon arrival, officers located a victim who was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim has since been identified as Peggy Yousuf, 77, of Allston.
Multiple units from across the city responded to assist in locating a suspect connected to the incident. The suspect was apprehended near 50 Quint Avenue following an attempted carjacking. The suspect has been identified as 26-year-old Omar Riaz of Boston. He was arraigned in Brighton District Court on the following charges:
Murder
Armed Carjacking
Resisting Arrest
