Superintendent Creed attended and graduated from law school, she said it was not to practice as an attorney, but to make her a better law enforcement officer. She was promoted to the Command Staff in 1994 as a Deputy Superintendent and then promoted to Superintendent in 1998. She was a strong leader whose sense of professionalism, fairness and sense of humor left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to work with her and on the Boston Police Department.
