Officers from D-4 Arrest suspect After Soliciting Money and Threatening Victim with Razor

On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at approximately 9:11 PM, officers from District D-4 (South End/Back Bay) arrested Paul Derrick Nicholson, 61, of Boston, for assault with a dangerous weapon.

Responding to a call reporting an individual wielding a knife at 841 Boylston St, officers arrived to find a victim who reported that as he exited a store, Nicholson approached him, soliciting money. When the victim explained he had none, Nicholson allegedly produced a straight razor, threateningly raising it above his head, and then made an advance towards the victim. After a brief investigation, officers apprehended Nicholson as he attempted to flee. Though a straight razor was not recovered, a search of Nicholson revealed two syringe needles.

Nicholson was taken into custody and faces charges of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Conduct. He is expected to be arraigned at Boston Municipal Court.
