At around 4:45 PM on Monday, February 26, 2024, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury), in conjunction with officers from the Special Investigations Unit, apprehended Dennis Wilson, 35, of Norwood, on charges related to drug possession.
During an investigation in the vicinity of Warren and Woodbine St, officers identified a suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Upon issuing an exit order, officers noticed a plastic bag partially tucked into the suspect’s waistline, seated in the front passenger seat. Based on their training and experience, officers suspected the plastic bag contained illegal narcotics. Upon retrieval, the bag was found to contain a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. Subsequently, the suspect was arrested.
A search of the suspect yielded another plastic bag containing several medium-sized pieces of a rock-like substance, suspected to be crack cocaine. The plastic bag with the white powdery substance weighed 5 grams, while the one containing the rock-like substance weighed 14 grams. Additionally, officers seized $1,284.75 in US currency.
Wilson faces charges of Trafficking Cocaine 18 grams or more and is scheduled to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court.
