On Thursday, September 17, 2026, members of the Youth Violence Strike force arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male for firearm related offenses.
About 6:39 PM, officers were conducting a firearm investigation in the area of 30 Academy Court. Police were aware that the target of their investigation was in possession of a firearm inside of a vehicle.
Upon arrival, a vehicle was seen idling with a passenger in the front seat. Officers immediately recognized this individual as the involved suspect. When the officers exited their cruiser and approached the vehicle, they heard the vehicle’s locking mechanism activated.
Officers confirmed that the passenger was the target of the investigation and an exit order was issued. The suspect exited the vehicle and a pat frisk was conducted. A firearm was recovered from the suspect’s waistband which was determined to be a Smith & Wesson Special CTG with six rounds in the cylinder.
The 17-year-old juvenile male was placed under arrest and is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court for the following offenses:
– Delinquent to wit; Carry a firearm without a license
– Delinquent to wit; Carry a loaded firearm without a license
– Delinquent to wit; Possession of ammunition without an FID card
