On Wednesday, September 2, 2026, officers from the Boston Police Fugitive Unit, along with members of the United States Marshals Service, arrested Shawn Padilla, 47, of Mattapan, in connection with a non-fatal shooting that occurred at 288 Roxbury Street on August 26, 2026.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At approximately 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, officers from District 2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot at 288 Roxbury Street. Upon arrival, officers located a victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds to both legs. Officers quickly applied a tourniquet, and the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Shawn Padilla is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on the following charges:
- Assault to Murder
- Assault and Battery Attempt with a Firearm
- Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon
- Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling
