Investigation Update: Detectives Arrest Randolph Man in Connection with Shots Fired Incident

On Monday, August 31, 2026, officers from District 2 (Roxbury) arrested David Dillard, 22, of Randolph, in connection with a ShotSpotter activation that resulted in the recovery of twenty (20) spent shell casings in the vicinity of 14 Abbotsford Street.

The facts and circumstances surrounding the prior incident are as follows: At approximately 7:49 p.m. on Wednesday, April 14, 2026, officers responded to a radio call for a ShotSpotter activation at 14 Abbotsford Street. Officers and detectives located and recovered twenty (20) spent shell casings and observed ballistic damage to several vehicles in the vicinity.

David Dillard is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court on the following charges:

  • Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, to wit: Firearm
  • Attempted Assault and Battery by Discharge of a Firearm
  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
  • Carrying a Loaded Firearm
  • Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card
  • Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling
  • Possession of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony
