On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, officers and detectives assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury), along with members of the Auto Theft Unit, conducted a targeted enforcement operation focused on scooters and mopeds. The initiative was organized in response to ongoing public safety concerns regarding the use of these vehicles in the Dorchester and Roxbury neighborhoods.
As a result of this operation, officers issued summonses for twelve individuals and towed thirty-one mopeds for violations of the auto laws in the areas of Blue Hill Avenue and Warren Street.
The Boston Police Department remains committed to improving traffic safety and will continue to conduct enforcement operations across the city.
