Targeted Downtown Shoplifting Operation Results in Multiple Arrests and Summonses

In an effort to address the increasing number of quality-of-life and shoplifting crimes in the Downtown Crossing, Boston Common, and the retail businesses sector, the Boston Police Department has intensified enforcement, coordinating and responding to business community concerns. In collaboration with the CVS staff, detectives were successfully able to identify several individuals for their role in organized retail crime and improve the safety of businesses, employees and the public.

During the course of this operation, which took place between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, the following individuals were taken into custody in the area of 631 Washington Street (CVS) in Downtown Crossing:

Edgar Rivera, 39-years-old, of Dorchester

Anthony Dejesus-Martinez, 36-years-old, of Roxbury

Bobby Mccoullum, 54-years-old, of Dorchester

Jaamialle Williams, 52-years-old, of Mansfield

Alvin Whitlow, 71-years-old, of Mattapan

All of the suspects are expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on the charge of Shoplifting.

Additionally, three male suspects were issued summonses to appear in Boston Municipal Court for Shoplifting.
