At approximately 1:29 PM on Friday, July 31, 2026, members of the Special Investigation Unit assisted by the FBI Metro Boston Gang Task Force executed a search warrant that resulted in the arrest of Omar Washington, 37-years-old, Dorchester and the recovery of a loaded firearm and ammunition in the area of 6 Waterlow Street in Dorchester.
Officers conducted an investigation into the suspect which resulted in the retention of a search warrant for the suspect’s person and his residence.
At approximately 1:12 PM, officers observed the suspect exit his residence on Waterlow Street where he was approached by officers who were able to retrieve the keys to his residence.
Inside of the suspect’s residence, officers recovered a semi-automatic firearm and a magazine loaded with three rounds of live ammunition. An additional round of live ammunition was located as well.
The firearm was determined to be a High Point .380 handgun.
Washington is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Armed Career Criminal Level III, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
