Search Warrant Turns Up Firearm, Clothing Tied to Roxbury Shots Fired Investigation

District B-2 (Roxbury) and B-3 (Mattapan) detectives have made two arrests following a weeks-long investigation into a Roxbury shots fired incident, culminating in the execution of search warrants that recovered a firearm and other evidence tied to the case.

At about 6:12 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation for multiple rounds of gunfire in the area of 17 Highland Park Street in Roxbury. Preliminary information revealed that witnesses reported seeing a man in a black hoodie running from the area toward Fort Avenue while holding a firearm. Witnesses also reported seeing a dark-colored SUV flee the scene with someone firing from the back seat. Officers recovered multiple spent shell casings nearby, and detectives responded to photograph and process the scene.

Detectives identified the suspect and obtained surveillance video subsequently showing the same two individuals leaving the building shortly before the shooting and returning afterward, wearing clothing consistent with descriptions from the scene.

On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, District B-2 and District B-3 detectives, with assistance from the Youth Violence Strike Force, executed search warrants at the Centre Street apartment.

During the search, detectives recovered evidence linked to the June 20 shooting, along with a 9mm firearm loaded with 19 rounds of ammunition and fitted with an extended, large capacity magazine.
