Officers arrested a Dorchester man on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, after executing search warrants that led to the recovery of a loaded firearm and a quantity of narcotics.
Members of the C-11 (Dorchester) Drug Control Unit, assisted by the C-6 (South Boston) Drug Control Unit, had been investigating Damon Brown, 51, of Dorchester, on suspicion of drug distribution. The investigation led to the issuance of two search warrants from Dorchester District Court, one for Brown’s person and one for his residence located on Barry Street in Dorchester.
Officers established surveillance in the area and observed Brown leave the address. He was stopped nearby, advised of his rights, and informed of the warrants. Officers then proceeded to the apartment and made a peaceful entry to execute the search warrant.
During the search, officers recovered a loaded 9mm firearm with one round chambered and six rounds in the magazine, along with the following narcotics:
- Crack cocaine: 9.2 grams
- Fentanyl: approximately 3 grams
Two digital scales, packaging materials, and a set of keys matching the apartment and building locks were also recovered.
Officers separately recovered a cell phone and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from Brown’s person.
Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Suffolk County Jail. He faces the following charges:
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm
- Unlawful Possession of Ammunition
- Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Subsequent Offense
- Armed Career Criminal, Level III
- Improper Storage of a Firearm
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Substance, Subsequent Offense
- Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B Substance, Subsequent Offense
Brown is expected to be arraigned at Dorchester District Court.
